A new crop of thoughtfully designed hotel merchandise is easing the pain of leaving a five-star hotel, making it possible to keep the experience going long after check-out. Once an afterthought confined to generic mugs and kitschy keychains, hotel swag has evolved to encompass luxurious lifestyle pieces and buzzy brand collaborations. From San Vicente Bungalows’ embroidered green beanie to pink-and-white striped silk pyjamas from the Beverly Hills Hotel, Soho House robes spotted far beyond the spa and Four Seasons candles styled as objets d’art, these souvenirs double as an aesthetic marker of a traveller’s status as a worldly, in-the-know citizen of the world.

As social media turns every vacation into the opportunity to flaunt taste and resources, repping where you’ve stayed (or want to stay) carries powerful cultural currency. Owning a piece of hotel merch signals insider status akin to joining a private members’ club. For example, Aman Essentials, the merchandise arm of Aman Resorts, offers curated collections tailored to each property – from alpine-ready hiking gear in Utah to sleek resortwear in Phuket – all designed to be enjoyed throughout the stay and beyond.

For hotels without an in-house design team, partnering with high-profile fashion brands carries just as much cachet. Take Gucci’s Cruise 2019 collection, where then-creative director Alessandro Michele put the spotlight on West Hollywood’s storied Chateau Marmont, transforming its iconography into limited-edition pieces like a natural canvas tote inspired by the hotel’s laundry bag, a Jackie bag reworked with a Chateau Marmont appliqué and a graphic crewneck sweatshirt. Or consider Frame’s ongoing partnership with The Ritz Paris, which launched during the pandemic and has since dropped four consecutive collections. Featuring the hotel crest on Breton-striped tees, cashmere sweaters, and sophisticated caps, the collection consistently sells out, appealing to a clientele that values both luxury and a laid-back polish.

These fashion-forward items let guests take a piece of their travel fantasy home. Whether it’s lounging poolside in a Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc matching set or wearing an Edition Hotels baseball cap on a morning commute, high-end hotel merch is a cultural signifier as well as a conversation starter. It’s aspirational, evocative and a little bit insider.

Here are some of the latest designer fashion and hotel collaborations worth checking in for.

Holt Renfrew and Ritz-Carlton Montréal

Drawing from the rich heritage of Holt Renfrew Ogilvy and the century-long legacy of the Ritz-Carlton Montreal, this 19-piece capsule includes elevated loungewear staples like sweatshirts, T-shirts, pyjamas and baseball caps alongside chic keepsakes like notebooks and backgammon sets, all stamped with the hotel’s historic crest. Launched earlier this summer and recently refreshed with new arrivals for fall and winter, the collection is available exclusively in store at Holt Renfrew Ogilvy, just around the corner from the hotel, until December 2025.

Hunza G and The Standard

Known for its sustainable suits and one-size-fits-all fabric, London-based swimwear label Hunza G is matching its effortlessly cool aesthetic with The Standard, the boutique hotel chain known for its anything-goes vibe. Enter: a limited-edition two-piece in “Standard Red,” the hotel’s signature hue. Crafted with Hunza G’s signature crinkle-effect material that adapts to a wide range of bodies, this stylish, ultra-flattering two-piece swimsuit is made for everything from poolside lounging in downtown L.A. to sunset dips in the Maldives. The Standard Hunza G bikini is available only at shopthestandard.com.

Sporty & Rich and Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc, Antibes

After successful runs with New York’s Carlyle Hotel and Paris’ Le Bristol, American athleisure brand Sporty & Rich returns to the French Riviera for another summer capsule with Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc. First launched in 2023, this year’s collection features over 50 elevated takes on hotel wear built around the signature Sporty & Rich silhouettes. Inspired by archival photos of the hotel in the 1970s, the lineup includes cozy sweatshirts, contrast-trim polo shirts, baseball caps, striped matching sets and swimsuits — all adorned with the hotel logo and available now on sportyandrich.com.

Lingua Franca and The Bowery Hotel, New York

Known for its embroidered, statement-making cashmere sweaters, for Fall 2025, Lingua Franca showcased its first ever ready-to-wear show at New York City’s The Bowery Hotel. The Bowery actually holds personal significance for founder and designer, Rachelle Hruska MacPherson: Her husband Sean MacPherson designed the property and they lived there when they first moved to Manhattan. This collection is an homage to the mythology of The Bowery, a favourite haunt of celebs and creatives, and includes whimsical hand-embroidered sweaters, playful teddy-bear prints and totes emblazoned with “Bowery Hotel” in its signature script lettering. Although the collection is no longer available for pre-order, the fall drop will be arriving soon on linguafranca.nyc
